Links - What are they?
A well designed website clearly outlines the merits of your services or products. Design of a website and its ease of access is a reflection of your firm’s reputation.
To make your website a success and a good return on investment you need to market your web site. The principles are pretty much the same as promoting an off line product, however most startups and businesses neglect the importance of on line marketing and one of the key aspects of online marketing or SEO is linking.
Backlinks, also known as incoming links, inbound links, in links, and inward links in this section, I can possibly write war and peace on this subject.
Often use the number of backlinks that a website has as one of the most important factors for determining that website's search engine ranking, popularity and importance.
In principle, each link to a web page is seen as a vote for that web page. Simply if there are two pages that are equally relevant to a given search query, the page with the better inbound link profile will rank higher than the other page.
The aim for Back links is to get high ranking relevant links. For example if a search for “Web Design Tamworth” and company “A” was a web design company in Tamworth had a link from the Tamworth local chamber of commerce this would give company A a relevant score with the search engines. However if company “A” also had a review by a magazine on line and linked to “A” website this would give the link Authority back to company “A”. Google will use this to rank company “A” better than a competitor who did not have the relevant links and also the Authority.
Sounds a little confusing but the Search engines are simply looking for Relevant, Trustworthy, Authoritative links. The point of relevance is that there is no point in having a site on Web Design if you have lots of links to do with Baking Cakes and Selling Cars. For example we would possible link to web design magazines with relevant articles, graphic designers, IT companies, tutorials etc.. etc..
Links are very important for a website and you need to make sure you get the right ones for your site.
There is a strategy for link building again this needs to have a structured but a creative approach.
